What the clinical perspective brings
It defines which questions deserve an answer, which evidence is admissible and at which point in the care process a piece of information is genuinely useful.
Company
Sphera Innovation is a multidisciplinary team of clinical specialists and software and hardware engineers dedicated to building technology solutions and comprehensive biomedical platforms for the hospital setting. We work at exactly the point where it is decided whether a clinical tool helps or hinders: between clinical knowledge and the engineering that turns it into reliable software.
Based in Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain
Clinical software almost always fails for the same reason: it is built far from the practice it claims to support. A tool can be technically flawless and still be useless in a tumor board session, because it asks for data nobody has at hand, presents information in an order that does not match clinical reasoning, or requires steps the real workflow does not allow.
The reverse combination does not work either: clinical judgement without rigorous engineering produces prototypes that do not hold up when guidelines must be updated, sources traced, data security guaranteed or hospital systems integrated.
It defines which questions deserve an answer, which evidence is admissible and at which point in the care process a piece of information is genuinely useful.
It turns that judgement into a maintainable, auditable and updatable system, with an architecture ready to grow and to integrate into the centre's infrastructure.
We design and write the system ourselves. That lets us change the interface, the output formats and the integration logic according to what each service needs, without depending on third parties.
We talk to oncology, molecular pathology, hospital pharmacy and IT departments from the outset, not at the end. Product decisions are made with their judgement in front of us.
Every evaluation with a clinical service returns concrete conclusions that enter the roadmap. We prefer to correct early with real cases than to accumulate untested features.
Every statement the system makes can be verified at its source. Without traceability there is no trust, and without trust there is no clinical use.
In-house development and a modular architecture, so new knowledge and new needs can be absorbed without rebuilding the system.
The ultimate goal is not a report: it is freeing up the clinical team's time for discussion and for patient care.
We prefer a defined, well-resolved scope to broad but superficial coverage. Rigour comes before reach.
You will speak with the people who build the system. We work in direct contact with clinical services, without intermediaries.
